Marine Surveyor
Nature of the Work
As a Marine Surveyor, you will be required to:
• Undertake inspections of ships for the purpose of classification
• Appraise ship designs in accordance to internationally recognised standards
• Offer technical advice to clients on the design and production aspects of their vessels
• Statutory surveys of ships to ensure that they pass port state or flag state control inspections

Working Conditions
Working hours are generally normal office hours. You may have to work outside office hours to meet deadlines
Qualification, Training and Advancement
Required:
• A bachelor’s degree in marine or related engineering, OR
• Qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certified ship’s officer.
